Summary
Part of a late Roman bowl was found by the driver of a mechanical excavator. The bowl was inlaid with silver. It was handed to the British Museum, pending an inquest. Several pieces of Roman tile were found in the topsoil of the adjacent field.

Full Description
[TQ 7301 7071] Strood, Brompton Farm. Part of a late Roman bowl, inlaid with silver, was retrieved by the driver of a heavy mechanical excavator at a depth of 2m or less, and was subsequently deposited in the British Museum, pending an inquest. Several pieces of Roman tile were found in the topsoil of the adjacent field. (1)
