The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 SE ALKHAM SLIP LANE (west side) 4/23 22.8.62 The Old Rectory GV II House, Circa 1700 for Slater family. Red brick with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with wooden modillion eaves cornice to roof with kneelered parapet gables, flat roofed dormers and stacks projecting at end left and at end right. Regular fenestration of 5 glazing bar sashes on first floor and 4 on ground floor with gauged heads and flying cornices. Central glazed door with rectangular traceried fanlight in pilaster surround. Recessed 2 storey wing to left.
