The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOODNESTONE THE STREET TR 25 SE (West side) 3/101 Forge Cottage GV II House. Early C19. Brown brick and slate roof. Goodnestone estate style. Two storeys on plinth with dogtooth eaves cornice to roof with lozenge set stacks to rear left and to right. Projecting wing to right. Two 2 light Dering windows on first floor and one 3 light on ground floor of main range and one 3 light Dering window on each floor of wing. Central rib and stud door in four centred arched architrave in round headed opening on imposts.
