The following text is from the original listed building designation:
GOODNESTONE CHILLENDEN TR 25 SE 3/59 Forge Building about 20 metres east of The Thatch GV II Forge. Late C19 rebuilding and alteration of C17 building. Red brick, to rear and return elevations in English bond and of C17 brick. Pantiled and sheet asbestos roof. One storey, with hipped roof with 2 stacks to right. Large cart doors to left and segmentally headed multi-paned window on front elevation and boarded door on right return. Interior: still in use as a forge, with furnaces and equipment. Included for group value.
