Monument record TQ 82 NW 13 - Site of former windmill, Ringle Crouch Green, Sandhurst

Summary

The remains of an octagonal brick windmill are located to the east of Sandhurst. Now disused this windmill was originally a six floor smock mill, but was out of use by the early 20th century. It was the only corn mill in Kent known to have five sweeps. The mill remained derelict until the body was removed after 1945. Known as the Ringle Crouch Green windmill it was built by James Collins in 1844.
