The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TR 24 NW DENTON AND WOOTTON CANTERBURY ROAD (east side) 1/38 Monument to William Willats, about 5 metres west of Church of St Mary GV II Monument to William Willats, d.1867. Stone, with iron rail. Single stepped base to heavy and low iron rail with distorted acorn finials. Greek sarcophagus like tomb chest, with triglyph and metope frieze, and pillow- like scrolls to top slab.
