The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BEACH STREET 1. 1055 (East Side) Royal Hotel TR 5752 NE 1/22 II 2. Early C19, 4 storeys stuccoed. Plain stuccoed front. 4 sashes with glazing bars intact. Pedimented doorcase having the Royal Coat of Arms and reeded pilasters and brackets. Similar side elevation. Early C20 extension to the rear of 3 storeys red brick. Slate mansard roof with 4 dormers. Bracket cornice and stringcourses 5 sashes with glazing bars intact.
