The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 1035 (East Side) No 120A (Former Central Hall) TR 3752 NE 1/434 20.8.73 II 2. Reputed to date from C17 but all external features are Mid C19. Formerly a Baptist chapel. The interior still contains an adult immersion font sunk into the floor. 1 storey stuccoed. Tiled roof having a pediment-shaped parapet with triangular acroteria at the ends. Moulded eaves cornice. Panelled pilasters flank the front. 3 C19 pointed arched casements. Off-centre porch with pilasters, cornice and pedimented parapet with triangular acroteria. 1 storey extension to south. Listed for historical interest as a non-conformist chapel.

Former General Baptist chapel in the High Street, Deal, built in 1688 by Samuel Taverner, Governor of Deal Castle during the Commonwealth. The original church became Unitarian in the 19th century and survived until 1910 after which the chapel was put to a variety of religious and secular uses. It is a small rectangular building with walls of coarse brick and a tiled roof. The broad west front of four bays has been variously altered. (2)
