However, in 1614, Elizabeth, the daughter of Henry Allard married Thomas Bachelor and brought the house into the hands of the Bachelor family, after whom it is called. A C15 timber-framed and close-studded building with plaster infilling, the ground floor rebuilt in red brick and grey headers. Half-hipped tiled roof. Original casement windows on the 1st floor, 6 small and 2 large, with diamond-shaped leaded panes and old green glass. 2 modern casement windows to ground floor. (2)
