(TQ 83273849) Great Bachelors (NAT) (1) 5272 BIDDENDEN SISSINGHURST ROAD Great Bachelors Hall (formerly listed as Great Bachelors) TQ 83 NW 3/96 4.6.52. II* 2. This was built by the Allard family. However, in 1614, Elizabeth, the daughter of Henry Allard married Thomas Bachelor and brought the house into the hands of the Bachelor family, after whom it is called. A C15 timber-framed and close-studded building with plaster infilling, the ground floor rebuilt in red brick and grey headers. Half-hipped tiled roof. Original casement windows on the 1st floor, 6 small and 2 large, with diamond-shaped leaded panes and old green glass. 2 modern casement windows to ground floor. (2)
