Monument record TQ 83 SE 2 - Moat, Halden Place, Rolvenden

Summary

The gardens of a 18th century farmhouse at Halden Place, Rolvenden are surrounded by the remains of the moat of the house first mentioned during the reign of Henry III. The remains comprise three sides of a large homestead moat. The site is on a slope and the missing northern arm would have had to have been very deep to contain water.
