Listed Building record TQ 67 SE 1075 - CHAPEL OF ST KATHERINE

Summary

Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1300 to 1899. St Katerine's Chapel was originally a chantry chapel. The original, eastern, part is a good example of Decorated work of c.1330 but the extension is inferior work of c.1450 or later. It was suppressed as a chantry under the statute of Edward VI. In 1774 it was a malt-house and, until its purchase in 1890 by Mr. Arnold, served as a cow-shed.
