Full Description

(TQ 88593369) OS 1:2500 1971 1715 ASHFORD ROAD (North West Side) No 31 (The White House) (formerly listed as No 29 (The White House)) TQ 8833 1/97 8.5.50. II* GV 2. C18. 2 storeys and attics stuccoed. Tiled roof has 2 dormers and modillion eaves cornice. Stringcourse. 3 windows. There are Venetian windows on the ground floor with painted Gothic panes to the heads of the central portions. 3-light square-headed windows above with pilasters between the lights. Glazing bars intact. Rusticated doorcase with Ionic pilasters, pediment and 6 panel moulded door, the top 2 panels cut away and glazed. (1) The White House has a good doorcase on Ionic columns and tripartite windows, the lower ones arched in the centre. (2)
