Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1700 to 1799 Summary from record TQ 67 SE 1174: Second World War Battle Headquarters at the George inn for HG VII in the Singlewell area. Part of the anti-invasion defences, it probably originated in 1940, in adapted use of the inn. It would have been decommissioned by 1944. The inn survives.
