TQ 66 SW MEOPHAM WROTHAM ROAD 7/104 (west side)

C16 timber-framed "hall" house. Cased in red brick with grey headers in C18 when it was an inn. Hipped thatched roof with pentice at west end of south front. Some casement windows, some sashes with glazing bars. Much original timber framing exposed internally.

Timber framed house of 2 phases of such similar construction that they were probably planned together. The first phase comprised 4 bays. The second phase was the addition of 2 further bays. The building may not have been fully domestic. (2)
