Description from record TQ 67 SE 241:
Manor house built in 1739, extended in the later 19th century at the eastern end and with wooden bays added to its south facing façade. The house had three bays facing to the south into gardens and orchards with outbuildings to the northwest. These outbuildings included a granary, oasthouse, barn and cartsheds. The house was occupied until 1984 after which it fell into disrepair, was vandalised and suffered two fires before finally being demolished in 1991.(2)

Excavation working in 1997 prior to a new development uncovered the eastern end of the main house consisting of a cellar to the south and foundations of a room to the north. Two additional stretches of wall are likely to be contemporary with this phase of construction.

This 18th century building replaced an earlier medieval manor house (TQ 87 SE 242). (1)
