Cottage. Early-to-mid C18; possibly circa 1739. Timber framed. Ground floor rendered, first-floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. Two roughly equal-length timber-framed bays, formerly with partition between them. 2 storeys, on stone plinth. Gabled. Large projecting red and grey brick stack to left gable end. Irregular fenestration of two 3-light wooden casements to each floor. Ribbed door to left of centre. Integral timber-framed rear lean-to. Short 2 storey later C19 red brick rear wing to left, extended in late C20. Interior: exposed framing. Long cut jowls to principal posts. Curved tension braces of light scantling. Fireplace with plain brick jambs and wooden bressumer. Possibly the cottage referred to in a mortgage dated 1739 as "new erected".
