The following text is from the original listed building designation:
SUTTON VALENCE RECTORY LANE TQ 8049-8149 (south side) 7/159 Court House GV II
House. C15 or early C16 with mid-to-late C16 alterations. Timber framed, rendered, with plain tile roof. Open wall of 2 roughly equal bays with storeyed bay to right. 2-bay cross-wing, possibly integral, projecting forwards slightly to left. 2 storeys. Wing 2 storeys and attic. Painted brick plinth. Wing jettied to first floor, jetty returning (but underbuilt) on dragon post. Plain bargeboards. Multiple brick stack at junction of wing and hall, and projecting later C16 stack with stone base, to right end. Irregular fenestration of 4 casements; 3-light canted oriel to first floor of wing, two 3-light and one 2-light leaded casement to main range. Panelled door to right of centre of main range, under flat bracketed hood. Interior: close-studded end-of-hall partition morticed for spear. Moulded octagonal crown-post in altered position. Braced partition between hall and wing on first floor. 2 later C16 moulded stone fireplaces with 4-centred-arched heads. C17 panelling to left of hall stack.
