Full Description

(TQ 860422) West Hoy Farm (NAT) (1) West Hoy farmhouse is a 15th century, timber framed, close studded building with plaster infilling. It is of two storeys and has a steeply pitched hipped tiled roof. The first floor oversails and there is an 18th century doorway.(2) 5272 SMARDEN SHENLEY FARM ROAD West Hoy Farmhouse (formerly listed as Westhoy) TQ 8642 23/61 14.2.67. II* 2. C15 Wealden house. Two storeys close-studded with plaster infilling, the first floor of the end window bays oversailing on the protruding ends of the floor joists and brackets. The eaves of the centre portion between are coved and overhang on brackets and a curved brace at the west end. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof. Four casement windows. C18 doorcase with flat hood over and low rectangular fanlight. At the west end of the ground floor is a window opening with a wooden grille.(3) Westhoy Farm a small but unrestored Wealden House, with closely set timbers exposed and painted black. (4)
