The following text is from the original listed building designation:
CHART SUTTON PLOUGH WENTS ROAD TQ 85 SW (north side) 2/49 Oasthause about 17 metres east of Fir Tree Farmhouse GV II
Oasthouse. Mid C19. Two stone kilns, one brick. Stowage with stone rear wall and gable ends and weatherboarded front. Plain tile roofs to kilns, slate roof to stowage. 2 circular stone kilns at south end of rectangular stowage. Circular brick kiln to rear wall of stowage. Kilns with dentilled eaves and conical roofs with cowls. Stowage roof hipped to north . Two 2-light casements to stowage, and central boarded first floor door. Boarded first-floor door to south gable end. Ground floor of stowage open, with wooden piers on padstones, and with boarded door to left end. Interior not inspected. Forms south-east end of open courtyard. See also item 2/48.
