The following text is from the original listed building designation:
LENHAM LENHAM FORSTAL ROAD TQ 95 SW
5/187 Forstal Cottages 4 and 5 GV II House,
now house row. Possibly C16 core with C17, C18 and C20 alterations. Timber-framed core. Front elevation channelled stucco. Left gable end C20 tile-hanging. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys on plinth. Plain 2-storey buttress to either end of front elevation. Half-hipped roof. Central brick ridge stack. Irregular fenestration of 3 windows; one 2-light casement, one central single light and one 3-light casement. Boarded door to No. 4 beneath stack and ribbed door to No. 5 in C20 extension to right. Interior: Fragment of substantial tie-beam with evidence for crown post. Cambered axial tie-beam from former storeyed end bay now part of ground-floor ceiling. Large C17 inglenook. Eaves raised, probably in C18. Interior No. 5 not inspected.
