YALDING SYMMONDS LANE TQ 64 NE (south-west side) 3/178 Mill Place Farm House (formerly listed as Mill 23-5-67 Place, Laddingford) GV II
Farmhouse. C16 or earlier, with late C18 or early C19 facade. Timber framed. Front elevation and right gable end chequered red and grey brick, left gable end brick on ground floor, tile-hung above. Rear weather- boarded on first floor to left. Slate roof. 2 storeys, on chamfered brick plinth. Rubbed red brick plat band. Flat eaves soffits. Hipped roof. Projecting red and grey brick stack, rebuilt in C20, to left gable end. Projecting C16 gable end stack to right, with ragstone base, and truncated brick flue ovolo-moulded to base and in English bond. Regular 3-window front of paired twelve-pane sashes with thin glazing bars and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs, similar window to left end of ground floor. Central half-glazed door with thin glazing bars, panelled base, and with paned side-lights flanking the glazing, up two steps with moulded risers. Two-storey red and grey brick central rear wing or stair turret with half-hipped plain tile roof, ridge stack towards junction with main range, weatherboarded left side, and weatherboarded lean-to to right side. Single-storey brick rear addition to left, with half-hipped plain tile roof. Rear lean-to to right. Interior not inspected.
