The following text is from the original listed building designation:
YALDING HIGH STREET TQ 6950 (west side) 6/137 Oak Cottage (formerly listed under High Street, North Arm, as 23-5-67 occupied by P Collyer with the house attached) GV II
House, formerly shop, now house. C17 or C18. Timber framed. Exposed framing to front gable end. First floor of right side rendered. Plain tile roof. Built at right-angles to road. 2 storeys. Exposed framing of relatively thin scantling, with arch-braced tie-beams to first floor and straight tension brace to half gable. Half-hipped roof. Projecting red and grey brick stack towards rear of long right side. Irregular fenestration of 2 two-light wooden casements (formerly sashes) to gable. Ground floor built out in red and grey brick in English bond, with lean-to plain tile roof. Short two- storey section with similar framing, and with tall red and grey brick stack to left end, infilling gap between house and next property to left. Door of four fielded panels in rendered lean-to towards front of right side. Interior not inspected.
