(TQ 80925183) Langley Corner Farm [NAT] (1) II* Langley Corner Farmhouse. Restored 15th c timber-framed and close-studded bdg. With plaster infilling, part of the ground floor rebuilt in brick, now painted. The first floor of the end w bays oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists and brackets. The eaves between oversail on curved braces and brackets. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof. Case ws with small square leaded panes. The centre portion has its original 2 tier w of 8 pointed lights with woodenmullions, which lit hall. Four-centred wooden doorway. (2) An impressive timber framed building, very well preserved. Formerly Langley Corner farmhouse, it is now a private house known as Sheiling Hall. (3) Langley Corner Farmhouse. Grade II* 15th century with late 16th and early 17th century alterations. (4)

This feature is recorded in the AB Heritage Heritage Appraisal relating to land at Green Lane, Langley, Kent prior to development. The appraisal required an assessment of heritage assets within 500m of the proposed development site and this feature was included in that area. The report states: "Sheiling Hall, 15th century former farmhouse (Grade II* Listed Building) located 320m to the north-west of the proposed development site…The position of modern development along the north-west part of Green Lane and vegetation creates a visual and physical obstruction between the building and proposed development site" (6)

LANGLEY HORSESHOE LANE TQ 85 SW (south side) 2/94 Langley Corner Farmhouse 20.10.52 GV II*
Farmhouse. C15 with late C16/early C17 alterations. Timber framed with rendered infilling. Part of ground floor towards right end replaced with painted brick. Plain tile roof. Wealden: open hall of 2 slightly unequal-length bays, with storeyed bay to either end, that to right broader. 2 storeys and attic on stone plinth. Right and left end bays jettied, jetties returning on moulded dragon posts. Front elevation and gable ends close-studded, right gable end with horizontal moulded fillet half way up first floor. Arch-braced flying wall- plate. Solid bracket under central tie-beam and under an apparent tie-beam to centre of left bay of hall. Hipped roof with gablets. Broad, partly renewed, projecting brick stack on stone base to left gable end, and brick stack in front slope of roof to right end of right bay of hall. Dormer to right hip. Irregular fenestration of 4 windows:- one 3-light wood mullion window to each outer bay; tall, narrow wooden mullion window of 3 pointed lights between mid-rail and eaves beneath stack; quadripartite hall window to centre of left bay of hall, each part of 4 narrow pointed lights. Ribbed and boarded door with 4-centred arched head with hollow spandrels to left end of right end bay of hall. Rear lean-to. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ8151451845 (7)
