The following text is from the original listed building designation:
CHART SUTTON CHART ROAD TQ 804 493 [north side] 7/31 Outbuilding about 80 metres south of Church of St. Michael GV II
Outbuilding, possibly a mortuary. C17 or earlier. Timber framed. Lathe and cement render infilling to west, partly underbuilt in stone and brick. South wall clad with red brick in Flemish bond. East wall weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. Approximately 16 feet by 12 feet. Single storey on stone plinth. Gunstock jowled posts. Tension brace. Hipped roof. Boarded door to south end of east wall. Edge-halved scarf-joint. Interior not inspected.
