2. Dated 1736. The Rev William Hazlitt, father of William Hazlitt Essayist and Critic was Minister of this church between 1770 and 1780. A plain front of red brick with moulded brick eaves cornice. Flanked by pilasters carried up beyond the cornice. 3 modern cambered windows. Modern stone flat hood on brackets to door and modern wrought iron bracket above. Plinth. Original pulpit and gallery inside.

Presbyterian chapel in Market buildings built in 1736. It adopted a Socinian, and ultimately Unitarian orthodoxy, in the second half of the 18th century. A plain front of red brick with moulded brick eaves cornice. Flanked by pilasters carried up beyond the cornice. 3 modern cambered windows. Modern stone flat hood on brackets to door and modern wrought iron bracket above. Plinth. Original pulpit and gallery inside. (2)
