The following text is from the original listed building designation:
FAIRMEADOW 1. 5278 (East Side) No 4 (The Three Lanterns) TQ 7555 NE 1/184 11.6.73. II
2. A C17 timber-framed building refronted. 2 storeys plastered. Tiled roof half-hipped on the right hand side with central plastered stack. 2 sashes with verticals only on the ground floor. The 1st floor has 2 cambered dormers with glazing bars intact. C19 shopfront with 2 simple wooden doorcases and 2 double windows with wooden surrounds. The rear elevation has sashes with glazing bars intact. The interior has plain panelling and batten doors.

Removed from the list in 2025 as the building was demolished in the 1970s to build the ring road
