Monument record TQ 85 NW 5 - Site of Anglo-Saxon burial ground, Thurnham Friars

Summary

Site of Anglo-Saxon burial ground was found during the creation of a bowling green in 1913. A number of graves were discovered and two iron spearheads and seven beads were the only finds preserved at the site. No subsequent finds have been made. The site lies on the lower south facing scarp slope of the North Downs. OD 110-115m.
