TQ 86 SW STOCKBURY SOUTH STREET ROAD (west side)
2/177 Barn circa 35 yards west of Parsonage Farmhouse
GV II
Barn. Mid C17 and early C19. Timber framed, aisle walls rebuilt in concrete under wall-plate. Plain tile roof. Mid- streys, with C19 canopies, in second and sixth bays from left end. Interior: 7 bays; 2 to left mid C17, rest early C19 in similar style. Aisled both sides, with arcade plates canti- levered out at ends to form end aisles. Slightly jowled posts. C17 bays have clasped purlin roof with reducing principal rafters and slightly curved braces to tie-beams and arcade plates. C19 bays have queen-strut roof with principal rafters inset carrying purlins and common rafters on backs; ridge-piece. Listed for group value.
