TQ 75 NE BOXLEY CHATHAM ROAD (west side)
5/64 Barn 1 yard south west of Tyland Farmhouse
G.V. II
Barn. Early to mid C17, 2 left end bays rebuilt in C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded, on red brick plinth with corrugated iron roof. 7 bays with 2 midstreys, double aisled except for 2 left bays at front and left end bay at rear. Forms left (west) side of farmyard. 2 storeys in 2 left end bays. Roof half-hipped at both ends. Midstreys in second and fifth bays from left with canopies over, that to left recessed because supported from arcade rather than aisle. Interior: clasped purlin roof with rafters trenched over purlins and queen struts to collars. Jowled posts and straight bracing.

Description from record TQ 75 NE 234 :
Excavations at Tyland Farm Barn which was due to be converted to office use. Excavations in the barn revealed that the chalk floor had been refloored in the last 30 years. No features or finds of note were recovered.
