The following text is from the original listed building designation:
LOWER ROAD TQ 75 SW EAST FARLEIGH (North Side) 2/32 Drinking trough to centre of junction with Station Road GV II
Drinking trough. 1911. Pitted stone. Rectangular trough with rectangular plinth under each end. Rounded and shouldered headstone to west end of trough, incorporating small drinking fountain. South side inscribed: "H.M. George V June 22nd 1911. Erected in commemoration by voluntary subscription. God Save the King."
