The following text is from the original listed building designation:
OTHAM STREET TQ 75 SE OTHAM (West Side) 3/228 Rose Cottage GV II
Probably barn, now house. C18 or earlier, built in 2 stages. Converted to house in C20. Timber framed. Left section rendered, right section weatherboarded. Left gable end part weatherboarded, part rendered, right gable end rendered. Plain tile roof. Built in 2 sections, that to left slightly shorter. Left section 2 storeys, right 2 storeys and garret. Hipped roof to left section, with gablet and with lower eaves and ridge. Half-hipped roof to right. Painted brick stack to junction of 2 sections. Irregular fenestration of 3 casements; one single-light to each end of left section and one 2-light to right section. Rendered front lean-to to right end of right section, with half-glazed door. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.
