The following text is from the original listed building designation:
WEST STREET TQ 74 NW HUNTON (South-east Side) 4/107 The Church Cottage GV II Poor house, now house. Early C19 (by c.1840). Random ragstone. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Gabled. Corbelled and filleted central buff brick ridge stack. Regular 2-window front of 2-light casements to each floor, ground-floor windows with stone voussoirs and slight keystones. One window to each floor of left gable end and none to rear wall (overlooking churchyard). Central ribbed door with similar voussoir and keystones. Slightly recessed central rectangular panel to centre of first floor. Interior not inspected. Print of 1794 shows thatched timber-framed house on site.
