The following text is from the original listed building designation:
WEST STREET TQ 74 NW HUNTON (South Side) 4/103 Nos. 1 and 2 Durrants Cottages GV II
House or house row, now house pair. Possibly C17 or earlier, with C18 addition to right of stack. Timber-framed, on rendered plinth. Ground floor chequered red and grey brick, first floor rendered. Exposed broadly-spaced studding with brick infilling to ground floor of right gable end. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Roof half-hipped to right. Projecting brick gable end to left and 2 brick ridge stacks adjacent to each other to right of centre. Irregular fenestration of 5 windows; two 2-light and one 4-light C19 wooden casements and two small rectangular lights (one blocked). 2 blocked doors, one beneath and one to left of stack. 2 rear doors. Interior not inspected. Formerly known as Elphick Farm Cottages.
