6/1 Gore Cottage 23.5.67 II
House. Late C15. Timber framed with brick infilling on ground floor, tile-hung on first floor, with plain tile roof. Originally a 2-bay open hall with one storeyed bay at either end. 2 storeys, 4 timber framed bays. South elevation has stone plinth, jetty at left end and hipped roof, with gablet at right end. Ridge stack off-centre to left. 3 first-floor casements, one towards either end and one to centre, merging with eaves dormers placed immediately above them. C20 lean-to at right end containing door. Single-storey, single-bay extension at right end, recessed from south elevation, probably C19 timber framed with almost straight arch braces, brick infilling and plain tile roof. INTERIOR: has moulded end-of-hall beams, moulded central- truss posts, fragment of a moulded crown-post and evidence for stair position and right end jetty.
