2/14 The Rider 23.5.67 Mausoleum

Mausoleum. C18 or early C19. Long, relatively thin blocks of evenly- coursed dressed stone. Rectangular walls approximately 6 feet hiqh. Stone plinth. Tooled stone eaves band. Domed dressed stone roof. Bulls-eye window to east and west sides, with raised stone border and keystones. Ribbed door in rectangular doorway with raised tooled stone architrave, to south gable end. Stone coat of arms over doorway. Set in north-east corner of churchyard. Members of the Rider family owned Boughton Monchelsea Place from c.1685-1938.
