BOUGHTON MONCHELSEA THE QUARRIES TQ 75 SE 1/183 Stone Masons Workshop and Yard

Stone mason's workshop and yard. Early C19. Built of stone rubble with slate roof. 2 storeys: 2 window openings. Square casements. Ground & 1st floor loading doors with plank door. Included as the only industrial building remaining from the Boughton quarries, which provided most Kentish ragstone in the C19. [See "A Walk through Boughton's Quarries" Anne Creasey 1989-90]
