The following text is from the original listed building designation:
WEST FARLEIGH LOWER ROAD TQ 75 SW (North side) 2/29 Monument to John Gibbons about 13 metres east of chancel of Church of All Saints GV II
Monument. c.1800. Stone. Pedestal with moulded plinth and cornice, set on plain stone base, and surmounted by oval finial on a slightly raised circular base. Inscription, on east side only, to John Gibbons, d.1800; "Former master of the Free-School in Yalding. Went to Yalding in 1748 and kept it 51 years".
