SUTTON VALENCE HIGH STREET TQ 8049-8149 (north side) 7/139 Central Stores and Sutton 26.4.68 Dene (formerly listed as Central Stores and Green House) GV II
House, now shop and house. C16 or earlier with C19 facade. Timber framed. Ground floor clad with painted brick, first floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attics. Right end of Sutton Dene projects forwards slightly, with higher eaves and shallower roof pitch. Roof half-hipped to right. Projecting C19 stack to left gable end, with front elevation returned to it. Brick stack in rear slope of roof towards right end and at right end. 2 flat-roofed and one hipped dormer, all towards right end. Irregular fenestration of five 3-light casements; 4 evenly-spaced to main range and one to projecting bay. C19 shop front to centre of main range incorporating half-glazed door flanked by scrolled brackets and canted 4-light bay windows with wooden frieze over. Panelled door to Sutton Dene up 2 steps at right end of main range. Rear wing to left with half-hipped roof and multiple brick ridge stack. Interior not inspected. but said to have crown-post roof.
