The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER          HIGH STREET TQ 7567 NW 13/161                                          Nos 347 and 349 (The                                                 Ship Inn) 23-8-74 GV                                              II Public House C18, of 2 builds.  Stuccoed and painted brick, C20 interlocking concrete tile roof to No 349, Kent-tiled to No 347, 4 bays at east (No 349) 2 storeys, 2 bays at west (No 347).  No 349 has one ground plate glass sash, 4 first floor late C20 fixed and upper louvred replacement windows, 4 2nd floor 6 pane sashes. Coped parapets.  2 hipped gabled roofs at right angles with end stacks.  Central door, ground floor early C20 cornice unites both houses to form public house front;  fenestration altered and partly filled in with brick.  No 347 has 2 first floor C20 fixed and upper louvred windows, parapet;  weatherboarded returns and rear with sashes.  Hipped roof, 2 stacked.  Canted angle entrance with pilasters and cornice to doorcase on curve.  Interior:  rear lobby of west build (No 347) has partly panelled walls with plaster cornice,  pilastered and arched entrance,  suggesting c.1700 date.
