The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER HIGH STREET (NORTH) TQ 7567 NW 13/160 Nos 343 and 345 23-8-74 GV II Pair of houses with original shop fronts. Early C19. Painted brick, slate roof. 3 storeys. 2 bays each. No 343 has ground floor shop front of 4 slightly canted plate glass windows with muntin divisions and arched heads, 2 fluted pilasters to door and to angle, canted frieze and projecting cornice. No 345 has 2 outer muntin divisions only of original shop windows, canted frieze and cornice survives. Doorway on angle 12-pane sashes in reveals to 1st floor; 2nd floor sashes with some glazing bars missing to No 343, the sashes completely removed from No 345 (February 1989). Cornice band and parapet with stone coping. Deep return facades have side access doors to houses above shops, fluted pilasters and reveals survive at No 345 only, with distinctive 16 pane sashes running through the storeys above. Staircase in situ.
