The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER ST MARGARET ' S TQ 7468 SW STREET 9/228 Nos 48A and 48B 23.8.74 GV II House with shop. Early C19. Gault brick; Welsh slate hipped roof. Double depth plan with lateral and rear stacks. 3 storeys. Front: regular 2-window range; parapet with stone coping and cornice band. 12-pane hornless sashes in reveals under flat window arches. 3 large S-ties. Plate glass shop window with off-centre entrance, pilasters and panelled plinth. Right return carries scar of demolished adjacent building; hornless sash windows and simple side entrance. Left return, also with sash windows, some windows blank.
