The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER BOLEY HILL TQ 7468 NW 7/11 The Friars 24.10.50 GV II House. early C18 altered in early C19. red brick; Kent tile hipped roof. Originally with central entrance and stairs; these were removed when the house was extended by a rear range containing present stairs. 2 storeys and attic. Large ridge stack. Front: symmetrical 4-window range (originally a 5-window range, the centre window and doorway blocked); dentilled cornice and plat band between storeys; later plate glass horned sashes in reveals, flat window arches and rubbed birck surrounds. 2 flat-roofed dormers. Plain right return to main range (left return abuts Langley House, qv). Tripartite doorway (to rear range) under round-headed arch, with fanlight; small canted oriel to 1st floor above. rear wall forms a party wall with Whitefriars (qv). Interior: early to mid C19 open well stair, stick balusters and wreathed rail, ramped to attic. 2 1st floor rooms with large panelling (early C18) with moulded cornice. Some early C18 door furniture.
