The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7468 SE (St Margaret's Banks) 10/88 No 246 23.8.74 II Former house, now a shop. Mid C18, considerably altered in C19 and later. Timber-framed with brick party wall to No 248 (demolished), otherwise weatherboarded throughout. Kent-tile hipped roofs; triple depth plan with rear wing. 2½ storeys (the wing 2 storeys). Front: 3 window range, upper half storey with 6-pane sashes in flush frames with cornices; canted Victorian oriel to 1st floor, left, flat-roofed projection to right with corner sash. Ground-floor has late C20 shop front with large plate-glass windows. rear: 6 and 16-pane sash windows and a round-headed stair light, also with hornless sash. Interior not inspected.
