ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7468 NW and TQ 7468 SW 7/65 No 84 GV II Former house, now a shop. C18, but probably incorporating C16 and Cl7 work; the building may have been associated originally with Philip Lodge to which it abuts at the rear (qv under 82A High Street). Half-timbered; Kent tile hipped roof. Plan not clear; possibly a 2-unit building with external rear stack. 2 storeys. Front: plastered; single window range. 12-pane hornless sash above, C20 plate-glass shop window, the fascia with shaped end brackets. Left return is weatherboarded and jettied. Rear with a small sash window squeezed in between an external stack and the stair turret of Philip Lodge. Interior: little is visible except for a plain axial ceiling beam to ground floor.
