Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
STROOD NORTH STREET TQ 7369 SE 6/282 No 6 (The Three Gardeners Public House) 23.8.74 GV II Public house. Possibly c.1700, much altered in C19. Stucco render on brick; Kent tile gambrel roof. Original plan not clear; massive external stack to left end, less substantial internal end stack to right; rear stair turret. 2 storeys and attic. Front: irregular 4-window range. 3 flat-roofed dormers with 4-pane sash windows. Console bracketted eaves cornice. Rusticated quoining and 1st floor window surrounds; 4-pane sashes in reveals. Ground floor has c.1900 tripartite public house front with tripartite windows and central door with canted side lights. Rear: central wing with 1st floor casement window. Interior: ground-flood altered, the rest not inspected.
