The following text is from the original listed building designation:
ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7468 NW 7/125 No 81 24.10.50 GV II House with shop. Early C18. Brick; Welsh slate mansard roof with dormer. There was a shop here in the C18, the house entered through door to left. 3 storeys; regular 3-window range. Rubbed brick window arches, flat to all but 1st floor centre which is ogee-shaped; aprons to 2nd floor windows; 12-pane horned sashes throughout (including dormer). 2 large S-tie rods. Raised panel door to house entry. Shopfront of c.1900 with deeply recessed central doorway. Rear: 16-pane hornless sash windows to principal floors. Interior: some contemporary fittings survive: 1st floor panelling (the panels concealed or removed, the muntins and rails intact), cyma moulded cornices, stair dado panelling ramped with rail; stair itself with 3 turned balusters to each tread.
