The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HALSTEAD HALSTEAD 1. 5280 Otford Lane (East Side) The Rose and Crown Public House. Nos 1 to 3 (consec) TQ 4861 14/499 II 2. Second quarter of C19 building of 2 storeys, 6 windows (3 windows to Public House, one each to cottages). Flint rubble with red brick dressings, ie alternating block quoins and vertical bands, and segmental door and windows arches. Fairly low pitched, slated roof with eaves soffit. (No 3 now pebbledashed). Recessed sash windows with glazing bars in stucco-lined reveals, except No 3 modern ground floor windows. 4-panel doors, those of public house under later wood hoods.
Nos 1 to 3 (consec) shall be amended to read Crown Cottages [Nos 1 to 3 (consec)]
