The following text is from the original listed building designation:

2. (Village stores and Post Office). Cl8 stucco elevation with incised lines in imitation of stone courses. 2 storeys. Parapet with stone coping. Ridge tile roof with 2 leaded dormers. Ground floor. Modern shop front and covered yard entrance to right with boarded coach house doors. First floor. 2 sash windows with bars in exposed frames. In centre, octagon projecting bay with cl9 casements. The present C18 stucco elevation masks an older framed structure.
Eversley and Dilgerts, Darenth Cottage, Markwick, Nigel Coleman Antiques, No 5 Barton's Cottages, Nos 1 to 4 (consec), Barton's Cottages, John McMaster, Cowlard's Bakery and P J Donaghue, hairdresser form a group.
