1. 5280 COWDEN FALCONHURST WOOD Hole Cottage TQ 44 SE 53/346
II
2. C15 or C16 hall house, part destroyed by enemy action. Entrance front 2 storeys 1 window. 1st floor oversailing on left return on old joists with 3 curved brackets. High pitched tiled roof with long hip at right. Tile hung 1st floor. Visible timber framing on ground floor, some with plaster filling, some with to-used brick. Rebuilt chimney breast with offsets at left. Replaced plank door in stout old frame at right. Small modern casements with leaded liglts. Stone foundation with some modern brick underpinning. Heavy timbers exposed inside, and crown post in roof.
