1. 5280 COWDEN MARK BEECH Buckhurst Farmhouse TQ 44 SE 53/356
II
2. Late mediaeval hall house with early C17 projecting gabled left extension. High pitched tiled roof has large, symmetrical ridge stack with arrises, cornice in several planes and stepped blocking course. C19 tile hung Ist floor and brick ground floor. Leaded iron casement windows. Inside much heavy exposed timber. Newel staircase in later part. Ornamental plaster work over upstairs fireplace with date 1617.
